Become A Volunteer
Volunteering for the ski club is a great way to meet other skiers and to share in creating a facility in which we can all take pride.
In the 2008/2009 season there were 250 club volunteers who were Jackrabbit leaders, ski swap workers, coaches, race officials, trail groomers, administrators and so on.
If you want to find out more, call the club at (867) 668-4477 or send us an email.
To volunteer right away, fill out the Ski Club Volunteer Form and send it to the club.

Volunteers Needed For These Jobs!
Wax & Wine and Social Director
The ski club requires a Social Director or somebody who would be willing to organize the Wax & Wines in November, January and February.
Trail Groooming
If you would like to help with grooming, let us know. There is a Basic Grooming Clinic on November 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the Grey Mountain Room at Mt Mac.
Trail grooming volunteers should have some familiarity with snowmobiles and should be available either for morning (6:30-9:00) or evening (7:30 to 9:30).
2010 Haywood Nationals
Would you like to get involved with one of the biggest events we have ever hosted? The National Championships will be here in March 2010. The club will need a lot of volunteers to host the event. There are opportunities for officials and training is provided. There are also non-technical roles, helping with banquets, athlete services, and awards ceremonies. Contact the club office for more information.
Jackrabbit Leaders and Helpers
The club is now recruiting leaders and helpers for the Jackrabbit and Bunny ski programs. Leaders should be competent skiers and must be willing to take at least one training course if not already certified as a Community Coach. Courses will be provided by Cross Country Yukon during October and January. Call the ski club office at 668-4477 for details.
Small Electronic Repairs and Improvements
We are always in need of a volunteer to do repair work on the snowmachine switches, lights, and controls. If you have the knowledge to do electronics or electrical repairs and have some basic tools please let us know.
Club Historian
The ski club board is looking for a club member or interested person who will write a history of the club.
This is a big, long term project that could be done by a team of interested people.
The WCCSC was started in 1979/1980 and some of the original members are still here. The club's history, though, goes back further than 1979, since cross country skiing was well established in the late sixties and seventies with the TEST program. Our roots go back even further. The Whitehorse Ski Club existed in the 1950's and Roundel Hill (now Telemark Hill) was used for downhill skiing.
At present there is no single source of information about the club's history and now that we are in our 30th year, it may be time to document our development.
If you are interested in taking on this project please call the club office at 668-4477.
